I Remember...

I'm "borrowing" this from a friend!

Hot chocolate or eggnog? Hot Chocolate with mini marshmallows, lots of them, and a spoon! Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Each stocking is laid in a certain place and that is where the gifts are put. Colored lights on your tree/house or white? I love colored, but my kids say NO. So we use all white! Do you hang mistletoe? Sometimes When do you put up decorations? Thanksgiving weekend, and this year it was 80 degrees! What does your favorite christmas meal include? We go to our family farm on Christmas day and a couple of years ago, we started deep frying a turkey...yummy! Everyone brings their favorite side dishes, ranging from cranberry salad to tamales! We love variety! Favorite christmas memory from childhood? When I was growing up, we spent Christmas at my dad's parents house, and it was such fun! But, one year, we went to my Grandma Sally's house (my mom's mom). She lived in a little 2 bedroom house in south Dallas. Lots of memories were made there, but this Christmas is one that I will never forget. When we got there, she had orange peels, cloves and cinnamon sticks simmering on the stove. It's one of my very favorite memories! How and when did you learn the truth about Santa? What truth? Did something happen to Santa? Please...let me know!!! Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? It depends on where we are. Sometimes we'll open one just for fun! How do you decorate your christmas tree? With TONS of stuff, from items our kids made, ornaments given to us over the years, and my favorites...3 Baby's First Christmas! They made our Christmases so great! Snow! Love it or leave it? Love it! But, Texans need to learn to S L O W DOWN while driving on ice and snow. Can you ice skate? Absolutely not. I fall down for no reason on a regular basis. Do you remember your favorite gift? The one I remember is when I got my first hot rollers...wow, they've come a long way. AND, when I was very little, my older sister and I got a kitchen set and baby cribs for our dolls, and apparently I climbed over all of it and got the bottle of bubbles out of my stocking and was perfectly happy! What's the most important thing about christmas for you? I love being with my family, even some we don't see very often. But, as I have grown in my faith, I have come to realize how very much I enjoy the celebration of Jesus' birth on that day. He is the ULTIMATE Christmas gift! What is your favorite christmas tradition? We're actually building our tradition since our kids have grown up. We go to Christmas Eve Service and then come home, get on the pajamas, and have a huge breakfast! (And of course, my favorite tradition is the one where Jack gets to be at Mimi's and Pappy's every other Christmas morning!) What tops your tree? Big plaid bows. We used to have an angel for the top, but she got broken! What is your favorite christmas song? Silent Night, hands down. But I also love the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir singing "Happy Birthday Jesus" and also the song "Here With Us".
