When Mothers Pray...

I am going to post a wonderful passage from this book later this evening, but wanted to post a quick update in case any of you needed items on your prayer list today...

Please pray for The Phillips family...friends of Matt and Christine. You can link on my blog for information.

Christine's wonderful friend, Jenna, who is also Matt's cousin, is due any day with baby girl Reese Cope. Lord...reach down and bless them.

Matt's cousin, Ashley, and one of Christine's favorite people, is due to have a baby girl any day now. She and her husband have waited years for this little blessing, and for now, she is called "Possum" - God...give this sweet family peace and joy.

Matt's grandmother, Nana, who lives in Smithville, and is 80, was knocking doors yesterday and slipped and fell - required 40 stitches in her head and a trip to the hospital to do a cat-scan. She didn't break anything, but is really sore - Lyn, Kathy's sister, and Jody, Kathy's sister, are also the moms of Jenna, Ashley and JD, who are all expecting little girls. And of course, Kathy, affectionately know as Giggi, is waiting for Sam, and concerned about her sweet, precious mom.

And, last night, Roy took a bad fall on our porch. He is fine, but sore. But - a scary thing, since I was at the hospital and Brad was helping Matt at the house. My sweet sister, Marianne, went over and checked him out and then Matt and Brad called it quits for the night and went to hang with him.

Can you pray also for Kathy and me? Our homes are in disarray, and we are okay with that, but we are just trying to find a balance. (We both agreed that when you have to stop to purchase undies at Walmart, it is time to do the laundry!)

And, for Matt, the magnificent. My "favorite" son-in-law, precious son of Kathy and Ray. He's trying to juggle too much. He needs strength. He is tired, but so devoted and we are thankful for that. Can you ask God to bless him with peace about what he needs to get done - and then pray for him to not be afraid to ask for help. We just love him so much!

And, finally, a rude comment from a nurse left Christine in tears this morning after a very rough night. We slept a total of about 2 hours off and on and I came home for a nap, before going to work. It was hard to leave her, but my precious 2 cousins work there and are going to check on her. She had to be catherized, her pic line is not functioning well, she is tired, sick at her stomach, hurting, and missing her boys. She is exhausted and I am praying that God will just reach down and lift her sweet soul up and give her a peace about what she is going through. She knows in her head, but needs to feel it in her heart.

Is this too much to ask? I don't think so. Our prayer warriors have carried us for so long. And Jesus is walking right here with us.

Blessings to you, wherever you are. Your prayers are sustaining our family.

Pray hard...

I am Jaymie's cousin, I found your blog through the circle of girls at RHCC. I met Christine when she sang at Jaymie and Kory's wedding. I know Matt from RHCC youth group and ACU. I have been praying and I thank you for mentioning Jaymie, Kory, Jayde and Kanyon. I will continue to pray for Matt and Christine and you and Kathy as well. They are so blessed to have you guys close by.

God Bless

Susan

I definitely need to not have on mascara when I read your posts! I would give so much to be able to take Christine's place for a day and let her feel wonderful and rest well for just a little while! I remember how just with my level of nausea sometimes I would have given anything for just a small break and for something to have tasted good and felt good after I ate it. Oh, and maybe the rude nurse might want a time slot of being in Christine's shoes too. :) I'm praying for all of you, for the babies, for Roy, for Matt (who wins husband of the year), and always for Christine!

Well our family is a basket case right now, aren't we?

I pray that Christine feels better today and starts gaining more and more strength everyday. And to Sam, whom I CAN wait to meet...may he be as snug as a bug for a few more MONTHS.

Thanks for mentioning me and "Possum". We need it.

Love you.

Mindy, you are such an inspiration. Truly, your faith is astonishing. I hate it so much that your sweet family is suffering so much, but it is a blessing to all who know you and watch you to see your faith in action. Sometimes I wonder how SO much can happen to one family, but know that even in your hard, hard times your family blesses people in His name by the precious way that you live your faith.
