He's here!!!!

Check Kathy's blog later tonight for photos, but Samuel is here! He arrived at 3:51 PM today, weighing in at 3 lb. 14 oz, and 16 in long. With his little legs drawn up, he is shorter than a ruler! However, he is doing well at this hour. He is in the NICU, but Matt and Christine have already been able to spend some time with him and we've seen the video and he is precious!!! Lots of hair and perfectly formed, just as we've prayed for! He is breathing room air, and has no IV, which is by itself pretty amazing, or so we have been told! I don't if you've ever noticed how very small Christine's hands are, but when she put her hand on his back, it covered his back and his little bum. He is TINY...but so strong.
Coming into this world had its bumps today, and there were a few tense moments, but Samuel amazed us all again, as did his sweet mommy, and fought hard to get here!
Jack is slightly impressed -- maybe when he gets to see him in person, it will become more real. He loved all the prizes today, though! As usual, "my Brenda" took care of him and dressed him special in his Big Brother shirt and Mickey crocs and he pranced in with Uncle Brad at about 3:30. About a half hour later, he got to go and see mommy and that was wonderful. It seems that Sam brought along a soccer ball for his big brother...hmmm!!!!
Matt was a champ, as usual, and was by her side through it all. The nurse was sweet enough to take a family photo...none of us were in there, obviously, but there were about 10-11 other people in there to offer the best care. And, her doctor blew through all speed radars and made it here about 11 minutes before he arrived!
We are blessed tonight...Christine is feeling good and they are anxious for another visit to see sweet Samuel Ray Pinson!
Happy Birthday, Sam...

I'm so relieved! I can't wait to meet the newest member of the family! Tell Christine we love her and are so, so proud of her.

Avery has been smiling alot lately and today and when Kathy called to tell me Sam was here, after I hung up I looked down at her and said, "Yay Baby Sam is here" and she smiled really big and started to coo. I think she's excited too!

Mindy..I had trouble sleeping after you called last night. I was so in awe of all that God can do. He hears our every petition and request. He is so faithful to answer those requests. I know He will keep His hand on Sam in the coming days. Y'all will continue to be in our prayers. -Leslie & Family

It's about 10 AM on Tuesday morning and I just got home for some much needed sleep! Sam did GREAT through the night! He is still breathing room air, and doing so well. He is not tolerating feeds too well, but that is normal. The doctor said he will tolerate mommy's food much better!!!
Thanks for your prayers - if he continues to do well today, we'll get to go in and see him tonight!
God bless each of you!
Mindy

You can now go to Christine's blog - she has posted photos and a much awaited few words!
God bless you!
On another note, please keep Randy and Kelly Vaughn and their sweet little 4 children, as well as all their family, in your prayers as they are in Africa trying to get home after years of Mission work in Benin.Paperwork is blocking them from that. You can read more if you link on "Becky" on my blogpage!
