Just wanted to update you on a couple of things! After talking to the Nurse Practitioner, who is also the wife of the Neonatologist, Matt and Christine were relieved to find out that the tremors and twitching that Sam is having is NOT any withdrawal, but just an underdeveloped muscular/skeletal issue. Very normal in preemies this age! She also said that if he was going to have withdrawal issues, they would have seen this already. Also, that the medicine that she has been on most recently and will continue to be on for a while as she recovers has the very least affect on the mother's milk, so she can continue to save her milk and it will be fed to him! This is great news! But, the best of all is that she got to hold him today! He has to stay wrapped up, but who cares? He's in her arms. Aunt Whitney got home from Mission Trip and got to see him for a little while. What a sweet moment that was! Christine told me they took a whole roll of film today, so hopefully she'll get those up in the next few days. I haven't gotten to see Sam for a couple of days due to some respiratory stuff I am fighting. But, after a couple of days of steroids and an antibiotic, hopefully, I'll get to go seem him in a few days. A little Jack note...yesterday's fishing trip with Pappy and Uncle Brad yielded a turtle! Jack was amazed to see a turtle on his fishing pole. Today Aunt Emily took him to the mall for some auntie time and they went to Build-A-Bear. Em was a little confused as to why Jack picked out a turtle. Now she understands. By the way, Jack named the turtle "Sam"!
Be blessed today...
