I am blessed in so many ways! One of my favorite blessings is that I have such a sweet friendship with my daughter's mother-in-law, Kathy. People have often told me that we are so lucky that we all get along, and I agree. But, it goes so much deeper than that. Kathy was a friend before our children "connected". When they got engaged, we got to share that time with Matt as he prepared to pop the question. We went together when Christine picked out her dress. We went together when she had her bridal portraits made. We spent the day together at her house addressing the wedding invitations. We shared many happy times leading up to and during the wedding week!
We now share 2 little grandsons, Jack and Sam. Through each pregnancy, we have spent many tense moments together...many hours in prayer. We got to be in the room together when Jack was born. We stood together outside the doors waiting for Sam's arrival, and prayed that God would bring him into this world safely as we watched through the windows while many hospital personnel went in and out of the room. We shared our first NICU experience together. We share our hugs with Jack and with each other.
There are lots of things I have learned from my friend...how to make microwave tea, how to thoroughly enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the afternoon, how to juggle whatever life throws at you...gracefully, how to love unconditionally, patience in adversity, that slice and bake are as good as scratch, and so much more!
I wish everyone was blessed with a Kathy in their lives! Since I learned how to put music on my blog, I thought this song was most fitting for the birthday girl - she brings light wherever she goes!

Oh, thank you. I'm so blessed to have you for my friend. We have made some great memories haven't we? You were so sweet to include me in all the wedding planning. And your baby girl is both a daughter and a friend to me now. Thanks for sharing her with me. What a gift to have each other and LOVE each other so much! I pray that I have a good relationship with the mothers of my kid's spouses one day as well. I love you both!
My sister is all that and so much more! I am so glad that you see her in that special light that I have always seen her "emit". She is an influence on me so much and I love her with all my heart! I am glad that we share you too!
