Thankful...

Just wanted to let you know that Christine came through her liver surgery yesterday just fine. She went to Methodist in Dallas for the surgery and then was transported back to Ft. Worth. I was hoping to post the pictures they took of the repair, but I will save that and let her do it!
Basically, her main bile duct in the liver was completely scarred over. You couldn't even see the opening in it and it had also scarred inside the duct. Her pressures were very high, meaning things were really backing up, and that also causes extreme pain. Couple that with her scar tissue adhesions and she was in bad shape! This does not take away all her pain - that will occur from time to time when her adhesions are irritated, as they are now. So, she is still in quite a bit of pain from that and also some surgical pain. Her doctor, a specialist in the field of this dysfunction, said he had thought it might just be subtle blockage, but he told the GI doctor "it was NOT subtle". To answer the question many have already asked, yes, this can happen again. But, if it does, hopefully she won't be so sick beforehand and have all the problems she has encountered with blood clots, etc. He made a significant cut in the duct and cleaned out as much of the scarring as he could and hopefully, that will hold for a long time. In the meantime, they have had to halt the blood thinners because last year after this surgery, she bled internally. The blood clots are still there and they will watch her for any problems with those. Hopefully, she'll get home soon and get to be with her sweet babies.
In the meantime, please keep her in your prayers, as well as her entire family, and we will watch for God's answer in His time.
Blessings to you...

So glad that Christine finally got some relief. I know it will be awhile before she will feel good, but so far so good. She is in our prayers every day, and we are hoping that she will soon be able to do some of those things she wants to do. Goodness knows, she has had her share of doctors, hospitals, nurses, etc. You are in our prayers, too, Mindy. I know you and Roy have had your share too., We love you and hope all of you get good news soon. Ruben and Naomi

I don't even know what to say. That poor girl has had it. I think that this has got to be the end of her sickness. I just pray it is. I hope her pain and doctor visits are few and far between. Love you guys.

I am still praying for some long term answers and so glad that something was done to relieve her current pain! I hope she continues to feel better and better!

I'm pretty sure Little John wants Jack to move in with us. :)
