A year to remember....

It's almost February and I cannot believe 2007 is over and we are a month into the new year! Last week, we were getting ready for the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at church and someone reminded me that it was this very weekend one year ago that Christine's pregnancy took a turn that lasted for the remainder of the pregnancy and then some. My sweet boss, Patty, said "wow...think about what you've been through in a year!!!". So, I did. January...Christine enters the hospital for what would be pretty much a 5 month stay...my daddy is still recovering from a near fatal car wreck in December. February...Roy has a defribillator/pacemaker implanted into his chest to keep his very sick heart working. March...Brad comes home from school. Emily dives in to helping with Christine and Jack. April...Christine's pregnancy takes a serious turn. May...Roy gets laid off from his job and begins what would be 7 months of unemployment. June...I pick up a 2nd job, while helping take care of Jack and Christine. BUT...red letter day...June 18...our little man comes into this world FAST and small, but strong! Brad starts at UNT. July...Sam comes home. August...I take on a 3rd job as Roy continues to look for work. Christine re-enters the hospital. Kathy, God love her, pretty much cares for the boys, and I do what I can, around my 3 jobs. September...Christine has her liver surgery repeated. Our sweet Logan is very ill with a viral cardiac illness...and we are too far away! October...we are stuggling. November...Sam develops RSV and Christine is still quite ill. Thanksgiving is near, and we all gather around to remember that through it all, our family is still blessed. AND, I am blessed with a full time opportunity at church and things are looking up! December...I turned 50! Not so bad! Christine back in the hospital...but a new test shows a new answer. Roy is blessed with a job...much different than anything he has ever done, but nevertheless, a blessing! Our Christmas (photos to come!) is wonderful and we said goodbye to 2007 with a huge sigh. Here are a few photos of the last year...

Life is hard...but God is so good. We are all so blessed as we anticipate a healthier 2008 and lots of great opportunities to share all that God has done and continues to do for our family. Be blessed...

That makes me tired just reading it! You and Christine have amazed me always with your trust and faith that God will see you through. I hope 2008 gives you blessings on top of blessings.

I had a good talk with Christine today and Florida sounds like a great blessing! I hope that works out.

I know I have already told you this but Garrett LOVES the Polar Bear book and he wants it read to him every night. Cody is the one that has been reading it the most and we have found that Garrett has memorized a lot of that book. It's such a cute story. Thanks again for thinking of him.

What an example you are (your whole family) of leaning on the Lord during hard times instead of throwing in the towel. Praying for a healthy, restful 2008!

Wow - when you put it all in order like that it shows a powerful time of testing, of perseverance, of faith, and of God's provision!! You guys all share a part in a powerful testimony, and I'm blessed to know it and have witnessed at least a little part of it . .I AM blessed for that! thank you, and I look forward to the stories of 2008 for your clan!!
