Roy and I just returned home after the attending the Harvest Dinner at RHCC. It is a dinner that culminates weeks of planning before Harvest Sunday, as well as a time to honor missionaries, both at home and abroad. It was wonderful! While on my way home, I listened to a voice message from an old friend -- I usually only see her when I help her with a wedding, but I always love it when I hear from her. It always seems like we just pick up right where we left off.
Kelly has been a friend for many years, and has always been there, either in person or in spirit, during the good and bad times. I got to know her when I shopped at her florist in Carrollton, then became a part time fixture there, and as my children would probably say, pretty much a full timer until they sold the store. I met her in 1988 - wow, that was a while ago! She has three precious children, Hunter, Kelsey and Lucas (who was a sort of surprise package!).
She taught me some pretty important things in life...how to ring up a sale, how to SELL, SELL, SELL!, how to "de-ball" baby's breath (that's a whole other blog!), how to build a mum from nothing to RIDICULOUS!!!, the "Prom Special", the "Ultra Prom Special", and the "So heavy, you will not be able to hold it" corsage, how to arrange flowers and how to love every minute of it!
She has also been there for me through some pretty rough times. She was one of the few people who could see past the effects of Prednisone after my stroke and love me in spite of it. She was the first person I saw when I walked into the ICU waiting room after Roy's first heart attack. She could always keep a confidence, no questions asked! She was a true prayer warrior on Christine's behalf when she was so ill, and then she was there to grant her dream-come-true flowers for her wedding to her sweet husband. She knew I needed her when I went through a really rough time last April even before she knew what was going on. Her heart speaks for her when there is really nothing you can say to make it better!
She is one of the true "sweet blessings" in my life. I count her as one of my very best friends, as well as my Christian sister. She loves the Lord and her faith in Him is so evident. I just wish everyone had a "Kelly" in their life.
May God's blessings be yours today!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! I appreciate the encouragement and prayers. Isn't God so good to bless us with Kelly's in our lives? Life would be so blah without them! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving---
Hey, mom...what do I gotta do to be a link on your blog-name it...the dishes, the laundry, I'll even take care of dad! Anyway, I am glad you have a friend like Kelly, and I am for sure that you have undoubtedly been that kind of friend to countless others-you are, well the best. So hook me up with that link okay, roomie!
I love you!
