Home is where your story begins...

I have a little plaque in my office that says "Home is where your story begins...". I just love it. I see it every morning when I go in and many times, when I look up at it, a memory will come to me. My first home was in Natchitoches, Louisiana. I was born in a clinic, lived in an army barrack with my parents, my big sister and her dog! Many different homes followed, but they were always okay, because my daddy and mama were there!

Some of the things I love most about my home are...

This man. He is a rock. He is a Christian first, an amazing husband, wonderful father, precious pappy/grandpa, loyal friend, patient fisherman, comic, and so much more. God has blessed our lives with Roy.

Jack Swanklin (Franklin). Named for his pappy, he wears his name proudly. It takes a special boy to carry such a big name. And what could be better than baseball? Baseball with Pappy Swanklin!

My precious children. Born in this order...Christine, Emily, Brad...but loved equally! Matt joined the crew when he married Christine - and now they have Jack!

New friends. This is Jack's friend, Clay. Or, so you would think! Actually he is Emily's boyfriend and a guy who is welcome in our home ANY time! We just love him!

Jojo and MKate. Better known as Melissa Jo and Mary Kate, my precious little nieces! They bring laughter and joy to our home and we are always happy to see them!

Another thought comes to mind...and I think about the phrase "Home is where your story begins" again. My story on this earth is long, with bumps and valleys, but many happy times recorded in my life. Home will also be where my story will continue...my heavenly home. I can hardly wait to see those who have already gone there! The stories we will share then!

It seems so sad when we lose someone we care about to death. But then I try to remember that their "new story" is about to begin. And that is so with our friend and brother, Byron Nelson. He left this earth, but his story continues. As amazing as his life in golf was, his life for the Lord was so much more! And now he is receiving an eternal reward. Bless you Byron, for touching our lives in so many ways!

May you all be blessed today!

I am staying in touch with Kathy every night too. I know you are beside yourself with all you have been dealing with. Your little grandson, Roy, and "our" Christine. We had prayer for her at church last night and I've whispered her name alot. Bless you all....give Baby Jack a kiss from Neena. Love to all!
