Today, Americans remembered a tragic event that happened 5 years ago. I still can't believe that it was that long ago. I always look forward to my morning time with the KLTY gang - yesterday, as I worked, something came on the radio that stopped me in my tracks. If you get a moment go to this link and hear I Was There!www.klty.com/family_friendly_morning_show.php - and then click on I Was There
Your tears will fall again, but for other reasons. As the years have passed people have pulled away from each other and fear has crept into all ages from preschool on up. Some of the last ones - maybe up too far to get over the mess and get below the bad areas; maybe some were simply too injured and had set life right with God and were ready to join Him. I love to have the picture in my mind of "God in the stairwell; in every seat of all 4 airplanes; He offerred a hand to grab hold onto to make the trip down.
And then, as if He steps back and answers the burning question with this....
I did not put you in the Tower that day-you may not know why. But, I Do. He continues to remind them that they are still on a journey and have time to seek Him and that once He is found, at any moment you will be ready to go. And he tells you he will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
I truly love to read and study different opinion on 9/11. Maybe it is that I was a History Major, maybe it's because I like to read, maybe it's because when that happened, I was caring for a room of 14-3 year olds, who didn't know much, but knew something was wrong and they were scared. God was definitely in my stairway that day!
I hope you are blessed by this tribute - you can also download a beautiful copy print of the words.
Tonight, Roy and I sat on the front porch just talking. It had cooled off, was raining lightly. We talked about so many things. He asked me if I remembered where I was when the first attack took place? I was at home, but left there and went over to my mom and dad's apartment and watched the newscasts with her. It was simply unbelievable what had happened to our country so quickly.
This conversation led on to our talking about his doctor's report, which was pretty bad. Roy will have a heart cath on Thursday morning and Dr. Duran anticipates implanting at least 2-3 stints. There is significant blockage on all sides and now in the front on the large artery. There is also something called an ejection fraction that tells how much of the blood in your heart your heart pumps out each beat. The norm is anywhere from 55-75%. In 2001, Roy's was 40-45% (poor); Today is is 24% (just plain bad). So after this procedure, we will look at the possiblity of placing a defribulator in his heart to shock it when it gets lazy! The next piece of information we received was that if we don't do this quickly, and he has another heart attack, it would most probably be a fatal attack.
We have both agreed to give this over to the Lord. Whatever happens will be whatever happens. (I will forget that a few times - so someone remind me!)
I remember the very first time I met Roy Tyndall - he was divorced and worked in the downstairs part of the office. I had to come down to pick up tills from the Service Reps, so I would say hi, or vice versa. (It may have been flirting!) Oh the stories I could tell to get you up to the present. But please just know, he is a man among men - he walks with the Father daily and it gives him no greater joy to share with others the wonderful love of Christ, just as someone did for him so many years ago! Tonight while it was raining, we sat on the porch and just talked - for a couple of hours, no interruptions. It was wonderful. Sometimes you need to say things to the one you love without everyone else around. We've always joked that even though he is the sick one, I would probably trip (as usual) in the middle of the street and get pancaked! But as the conversation turned, more serious things were addressed and it was good. Other times we have veen in this situation, we were trying to do things on the fly (not good for the blood pressure!)
Keep him in your prayers - and to those who love all the sweet stuff, someday, I'll write my real love story.
Be blessed today!

Mindy,
You guys are in my prayers and on my heart today. How wonderful that you guys got such good, quality time together this week. It's a good reminder to slow down and do the same over here.
Love to you--
Shelly
I cannot stop thinking about you guys tonight and hoping that you were able to get the surgery over with today. If not, I'm sure God has some special plan for a doctor who will be in tomorrow that just needs to be there! You guys are constantly on my heart and I will be waiting to hear. I enjoyed my time with you at the hospital today. As usual, you are all blessing others in the middle of your struggles. Praise God for wonderful people like your family. Much love is being prayed your way tonight!
Mindy & Roy.....I just talked to Kathy and heard about Roy's procedure today. I am so thankful that things went as well as they did. It sounds like he still has a few more little hurdles but I know he can do it! Especially with a cheerleader/nurse like Mindy. You were in my thoughts and prayers today. Check neenasnest for my latest saga. Love you all!
Mindy--
We are praying for Roy and your sweet family. Keep us updated on how he's doing.
