So many of you have asked and so many of you are praying, and so I thought I would give an update on Christine. She entered the hospital on Wednesday, September 20 and is still there. She is in extreme pain and unable to function, basically. They put in a pic line on Tuesday, to avoid a blood clot in her neck, which is where her 4th or 5th IV had been put. Many of you know that Christine has battled pancreatitis for many years and other health issues that have compounded. Right now, the doctors seem to be in agreement that she has Celiac Sprue, which is the body's inability to process gluten (found in wheat, rye, barley, oats - all that stuff they say we should be eating!). She also has a liver issue which she will be operated on for in a few weeks.
Christine has been fighting a physical battle for years and so I would just ask that you all pray that God will bless her with some relief when she has this procedure done and is on the gluten-free diet. She wants so much to be home with her precious family.
It is difficult when your "child" is sick, but such a great blessing that she is married to Matt, an amazing man. Jack is doing well and goes to see her every day. He usually marches in and says "HI, Mommy!" Then, if she has peas or mashed potatoes on her plate, he is more than happy to climb right up in the bed with her. Giggi and Mimi are switching off and we are happy to be here to do that.
But, we are ready to have her healthy, too! (Matt is getting tired of making out lesson plans, too!) Jack also has an amazing sitter, Miss Brenda, whom he just loves and that has helped that he has been able to go and play with his friends!
I just know that any day, Christine will be posting again and we will all be blessed with her amazing insight.
Pray hard!
May God bless you for doing so!

I am so glad you posted ! I have been calling Kathy but have been checking here to see if you have had time to sit down yet. I know you are exhausted too. We are praying ...... give Christine, Matt and Jack a big hug....
Please hug Christine and tell her that we love her and hope she feels better soon. You are all in our prayers...
Give Matt and sweet baby Jack our love, hugs and kisses. Wish we could be there to be with you all.
Love, Heather
I just can't tell you how much I have been thinking about and praying for all of you. My heart breaks that Christine has to be in pain and away from home. I'd love to come take a turn at the hospital and spend some time with her! Love to all!
Mindi,
Thanks for updating on how Tine is doing. I've been thinking about and praying for her and Matt and all of you. I pray that the doctors are able to offer real answers and relief rather than a temporary fix this time. We love Christine; give her a hug for us!
You are all on my heart throughout each day. I lift you up in prayer each time I think of you---especially Christine. Praise God that it seems as though there is a direction to head for healing to take place. Praying hard. . .
I second that AMEN, Giggi!!
Poor Christine. Tell her I'm praying for her daily and hope that she is feeling better soon. Give her a big hug....and Baby Jack too!
