How has the Lord worked in your life?

Tonight at church, Rick had the most wonderful lesson. This is not unusual. What was unusual was that he asked for people to share what the Lord had done in their life recently.
He first called on Matt, our precious son "in law". Matt stood and begin to speak of how God had worked through the past few weeks in his family's life. He told of how God's timing had doctors present when Christine experienced one of her "spells" of great pain and agony...yes, agony. He told how that because of this timing, the doctors were able to identify the source of this problem. It's been 8 years! He shared the grief that has gripped each of us for so long as we watched her suffer. He told of how there happened to be a doctor in Dallas who performs the procedure that fixes this problem on people from around the world. He told of how that doctor was able to fit Christine into his busy schedule, while she was having these symptoms. The diagnosis was clear, the problem was evident, and the hand of God reached down and guided the doctors hands in correcting the problem. He shared more and then, he reached down to the very depth of his soul and said...She is my heart. His voice cracked, and then he thanked everyone for bathing the family, and especially him, Christine and Jack, in their prayers.
Matt has been aware of Christine's medically fragile history since before he even knew her. He has loved and cared for her in a way that has shown us that God picked him especially for our daughter. He's blessed as well. They have made a home together and given us such a precious grandson.
How do I know when God works in my life? I saw a wonderful example of it tonight...
May God bless YOU with a "Matt" in your life...

I truly believe that they are probably the most precious "God fearing" couple in the world. They have been such examples to so many especially me. I love how this generation seems to take their salvation and ministries so seriously. The 60's and 70's were not so for me. They live what they say and have blessed everyone that has come in their path. I don't really think that my neices and nephews realize how much I love them.....but I do. And now I have these precious "add ons" I like to call instead of inlaws or "by marriage" neices and nephews. They are just an extension of my wonderful family. I pray for them each every night. Thank you for giving us Christine.....and for loving our Matt so much. He is a keeper and he has a keeper.

I have thought often of how precious it must be to watch your daughter be loved and cared for the way Matt does Christine. I pray that my husband will be that kind of man and my daughter will be given that kind of man. They are a tremendous example to all of us!

I am so glad to hear that Christine is being well taken care of--by the doctors, that sweet husband of hers, and the Lord! I pop over to your blog from hers from time to time, and ever since I found out about her recent health problems she's been in my prayers. Tell her I'm thinking about her!
