As many of you may know, we are getting some much needed rain the the metroplex, and in some areas, maybe a little too much. But, I won't complain...we'll be wanting it in the middle of June!
Tonight, I ventured over to the hospital with Jack to see his mommy. It was raining, but it seemed manageable. When we got there, it was raining, so I loaded everything into the stroller and carried Jack under the unbrella. We had a great visit - Jack enjoyed alot, since we took a "molten chocolate cake" from Chili's with us to mommy to go with her kids mac-n-cheese! Jack loves him some chocolate!! He also was so proud to show her his new crocs - red with mickey, instead of just holes - cute, cute cute!!
We got ready to go and I loaded him in the stroller and went downstairs. We walked out and it was just sprinkling and so I decided to go for it. I put the umbrella down over the front of the stroller and began to walk down a little hill toward the parking lot. A gust of wind blew in and the umbrella flew back and hit me, I fell and pulled the stroller back with me, then let go of it and it began to roll down the hill. Out of nowhere, a man ran up and stopped the stroller and helped me up. I was startled and just wanted to get to the car, so I thanked him and took off. When I got to the parking lot, I turned around and he was gone. As I fumbled to get everything in the car and Jack was getting soaked and screaming, I could feel my blood pressure going up! When I got in the car, I turned on the heater and tried to calm Jack down and then called Kathy and had a meltdown.
We tried to get on the highway, but decided to wait it out in a restaurant parking lot, and then got back on our way. I began to think about this man. Under normal circumstances, I would have probably started screaming, called 911, hit him with the umbrella, etc. But I stayed calm. And so did he. Suddenly, I got a chill - and it wasn't from being soaked.
At the moment I needed it most, God sent someone to me to make sure that Jack did not get hurt. Because of the rain, and the traffic in the parking lot, that could have happened so easily.
As I rocked him to sleep tonight, I told him how thankful I am that God gave him to all of us. And I am so thankful that God got us safely home in the storm. And then Jack said his thanks...thank you for mommy, daddy, sam, giggi, papa, mimi, pappy, baby reese, whitney, brad, kyle, pokey, emily, clay, and the angels.
That is all I have for tonight! I'll let you figure it out...
Be blessed...and pray hard.

MINDY that sound totally like something that would happen to me! BLESS YOUR HEART. It is an amazing story and I got chill bumps. Or as Ashley used to call them when she was little "chicken bumps". You are running yourself ragged in more ways than one. OK....when things settle down (????) you and Giggi are coming to Neena's B & B. PROMISE?
Sounds like fun!!!!
(How is Possum?)
